Basia Songin - vocals, drums, basetla, percussion, everyday objects (water, kitchen grater)
Kasia Kapela - vocals, violin, percussion, everyday objects (wooden cutting board, bottles, glass)
Zosia Barańska - vocals, violin, percussion, everyday objects (kitchen blender, flat wrenches)

SUTARI was created by singers, instrumentalists and performers – each from different musical and theatrical backgrounds. SUTARI is a fusion of their diverse music experiences and passions, both traditional and contemporary. Using traditional instruments (violin, basetla and drum) they also make use of everyday objects and explore their potential as musical devices (for instance, a hand mixer, grater, bottles and a wrench).

In searching for the harmonies and cadences contained within traditional Polish and Lithuanian vocal traditions, Sutari remains true to the songs themselves yet seeks to uncover hidden meanings concealed in their structure. The style, temperament, melody and rhythm of the songs, as well as their essential content – femininity, intelligence and beauty – are maintained, but new and contemporary elements of sound and interpretation may be heard.

Awarded Second Prize at XV Polish Radio Folk Festival "New Tradition" in 2012. / The audience award "Storm of applause" at XV Polish Radio Folk Festival "New Tradition" in 2012. / First Prize at the International Folk Music Festival „Mikołajki Folkowe” 2012. / Audience award at the International Folk Music Festival „Mikołajki Folkowe” 2012 / „The most interesting new band of the year 2012” a title awarded by Polish journalists in a poll of the portal etno.serpent.pl. / The victory in the 10th Battle Of The Bands - organized by World Music Network (one of the largest publishing houses specializing in the World Music)

Sutari’s debut album WIANO was recorded in familiar and well-known, though slightly unusual circumstances – in the kitchen and forest – places which influenced its sound in an interesting and special way. WIANO leads the listener through the soundscapes of everyday life: its intimate aspects behind closed doors, as well as the joy and noise of large social gatherings.
Sutari sings in the kitchen, Sutari sings in the bathroom, through open windows and by the fireplace, pouring tea, baking a cake or listening to the ticking of the clock. Sutari sings whilst walking in the woods, when siting on a bench outside a house or on a bridge by a lake.
